Description We are looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join a well-established public accounting firm located in Bakersfield, California. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee audit engagements from initial planning phases through to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards and deadlines. u2022 Prepare and review detailed audit workpapers in line with firm and industry standards. u2022 Lead and mentor audit staff and interns, providing guidance and training to support their growth and skill development. u2022 Identify and address accounting, auditing, and internal control issues, communicating findings effectively to clients and leadership. u2022 Conduct research on complex accounting and auditing matters, applying relevant guidance to resolve issues. u2022 Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through clear and effective communication. u2022 Manage engagement budgets, schedules, and coordination to optimize efficiency. u2022 Participate in firm-wide training programs and ongoing development initiatives to stay updated on industry trends. u2022 Contribute to a paperless or hybrid audit environment by leveraging technology effectively. u2022 Support audits for privately held companies, nonprofits, and employee benefit plans. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or a related field is required. u2022 CPA certification or CPA eligibility is preferred. u2022 Minimum of three years of experience in public accounting with a focus on audit and assurance. u2022 In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and internal controls. u2022 Proven ability to lead audit engagements and review the work of less experienced staff. u2022 Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. u2022 Experience managing multiple projects and meeting competing deadlines. u2022 Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office applications.
