Summary: Boat yard worker needed for Seasonal position in Naknek, Alaska. Duties include general warehouse duties in addition to helping pull, launch, and block commercial gillnet boats during the Bristol Bay fishing season: Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs) Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. - Forklift certified (or able to be certified) - Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per day 7 days a week - Job runs from 4/15-7/31 - Will help unload and load containers - General warehouse duties - Pull, launch and block boats - Trash runs to the dump - Keeping the boat yard clean - Freight runs to the post office - Basic repair and maintenance - This is not summer camp / you will work long hard hours This is a Seasonal non-benefitted position. You will be living and working at the LFS Naknek Marine Center. Minimum Requirements Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs) - Valid US issued driver's license - Forklift certification (or able to be certified) Preferred education and experience - Previous experience working in fish camp or remote bunk hours facility. - Forklift certified Work environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Physical demands:Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds and be able to work in any kind of weather; day or night.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
