Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Garden City, New York. In this role, you will oversee critical financial processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across accounting operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and compliant with accounting standards. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries to support monthly and year-end financial close processes. u2022 Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing. u2022 Conduct detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations and manage deposits to ensure proper cash flow tracking. u2022 Analyze financial data and compile reports to support decision-making and strategic planning. u2022 Handle ad-hoc financial projects and reporting requirements as needed. u2022 Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements in all accounting activities. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounting workflows and processes. u2022 Utilize Sage Timberline software to streamline financial operations and reporting. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounting or financial management, preferably as a Controller. u2022 Strong proficiency with Sage Timberline or similar accounting software. u2022 Expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently. u2022 Solid understanding of journal entries and financial reporting practices. u2022 Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to compile and interpret financial data. u2022 Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and cash flow management. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing financial tasks.
