The Role The Electronic Security Systems Associate is responsible for all security technology design on a wide range of commercial, educational, sports, entertainment, government, and infrastructure project types. This position will integrate with other Thornton Tomasetti security team members conducting Threat, Vulnerability, Risk Assessments, as well as physical security design and consulting, and will include advising our clients through planning, design, and construction. The engineer will be responsible for providing innovative security technology solutions through design and consulting in addition to supporting RFP/RFQ responses for obtaining new project work. This role will require some travel to project sites to attend meetings with clients. The success of this position will be delivered through innovative solutions, communications, and teamwork, as well as a proactive attitude and a strong drive for excellence. Responsibilities: Responsible for Electronic Security System design and consulting. The candidate must be able to integrate technical and system security requirements, including but not limited to Access Control, intrusion detection systems (IDS), video surveillance systems (VSS), and duress systems, into the overall security design drawings/models, using Revit. Maintain familiarity with current and emerging electronic security vendors and solutions such as access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, biometrics, barriers, etc. Work closely with vendors to develop solutions that exceed our clients' expectations. Write technical reports summarizing results, recommended security solutions, risk mitigation measures, and transition to technology implementation. Create and maintain product specifications. Coordinate directly with clients and other project team members. Support with proposal RFP/RFQ responses that pertain to obtaining new design work. The Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in technical/STEM discipline 8+ years of relevant work experience preferred Experience supporting DoD and/or Federal Government IT infrastructure, including IT infrastructure for Electronic Security Systems (ACS / IDS / VSS / Biometrics), is strongly preferred PSP certification preferred Excellent verbal and technical writing skills Self-motivated and team-oriented In-depth background in security technology and integration Capable of attaining a United States Security Clearance Compensation The rate for this position generally is $118,000 - $150,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
