Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine's Research Division. In this role, the successful candidate will work under the direction of Principal Investigator and Medical Director for Geriatric Emergency Medicine, Dr. Ula Hwang and the incumbent Program Manager, to provide research-based and administrative support for all geriatric and dementia emergency medicine research initiatives.The Research Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in a multitude of programmatic and administrative activities including assisting with the pre-award federal and non-federal grant application components, assisting with Institutional Review Board submissions, drafting sponsor reports, monitoring budgets, drafting presentations and monthly reports for leadership, communication and dissemination of programmatic materials, and providing analytic and scientific writing support.The Research Coordinator will serve as liaison with internal and external funding agencies, and will ensure the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, and required obligations to patient/subject, Principal Investigator, Research Team and sponsor. The ideal candidate will be highly organized to ensure deliverables are met effectively, on time, and are of high quality. A successful candidate will be resourceful, forward thinking, able to project team and program needs, and passionate and interested in improving geriatric and dementia emergency care.Job Responsibilities:1.Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of duties.2.Grants Assists in pre-award grant related activities such as developing and writing components of grants applications, letters of support, Other Support documentation, maintaining faculty biosketches and coordinating with subawards. Collects and organizes required paperwork for submission of the grant. Assists in drafting certain scientific components, such as the Human Subjects Research sections. Follows up and coordinates resolution of all issues. Assists in the planning of large multi-site research. Draft forms and questionnaires and manage the application of research techniques.3.Research Activities Assists in the institutional review board (IRB) process for all active grants, including preparing new IRBs, continuations, modifications, and close-outs. Assists in supervising research within the scope of established study protocol. Adheres to all human subjects' regulations as defined by the IRB and the federal government that pertain to research studies.4.Project/Program Coordination With a high degree of independence, assists the Program Manager with multiple federal and privately-funded research projects including planning, implementing, and organizing all related meetings (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually).
