Position Summary The Baristacrafts, prepares, and serves beverages such as coffee and tea per companyrecipe, and is responsible for taking customer orders and payments. They willprepare and serve freshly roasted, expertly prepared, premium coffee withunsurpassed hospitality in a welcoming environment. The barista isresponsible for delivering consistently exceptional experience to City Wineryguests. This role will also actively support in various other spaces of thebuilding for the collective success of the location. Overview of Responsibilities u25cfPrepare and serve consistent, high-quality drinks tomeet the company and recipe standards, while delivering exceptional guestservice u25cfPrepare beverages to standard recipes or customizedfor customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity ofingredients or substituted ingredients u25cfPerform opening and closing duties as necessary toensure the coffee area is well-maintained and prepared for a smooth shift u25cfReplenish and restock the coffee area and all suppliesas needed u25cfMaintain high levels of cleanliness, safety, andorganization of work areas, adhering to sanitation/health regulations andcompany policy u25cfProvide positive guest experience including greetings,conversing with, and thanking departing guests u25cfInteract with guests, take orders, serve food andbeverages, handle transactions, and support guest service needs from beginningto end u25cfUpsell, increase check average, compete in salesincentives, drive marketing promotions & special events, and promote theCity Winery brand u25cfAssess guest needs and preferences, providerecommendations to upsell u25cfFollow all health and safety regulations u25cfHandle payment transactions and maintain accurate cashdrawer u25cfAdhere to and abide by cash handling procedures as perCompany standards u25cfMaintain a working knowledge of City Winery brand,history, culture, and programming, both in venue and restaurant u25cfMaintain menu knowledge, including ingredients,preparation methods, and allergen information and communicate this informationto guests u25cfCommunicate with management or coworkers on inventoryand maintenance issues u25cfAttend trainings, tastings, meetings, as needed u25cfFollow all company policies, procedures, andguidelines including being ready to work at scheduled shift time, in uniform,with neat and presentable appearance u25cfPerform basic barback duties to assist bartendersduring peak times and assist in some prep work u25cfOther duties, tasks, projects as per business need Minimum Qualifications u25cfMinimum 1 year barista experience and/or relevant equivalentexperience. u25cfInterest in coffee origins, roasts, and brew methods is a plus u25cfLatte art skills are a plus u25cfStrong work ethic, team player, and exceptional guest serviceskills u25cfAbility to consistently deliver high-quality guest experiences,exceed guest expectations, and strive to create a memorable experience at everyCity Winery visit u25cfEffective communication and interpersonal skills with a provenability to build positive relationships with people in the scope of employment u25cfAptitude to resolve problems u25cfAbility to execute professional guest service experience u25cfAbility to handle all guests with composure and hospitality u25cfPolished presentation u25cfAbility to take direction from others u25cfAbility to work both independently and in a team environment u25cfMust be fluently literate in English including ability to read,write, communicate, conduct basic business-related mathematics, and able toaccurately function a POS u25cfAbility to work a flexible schedule including days, nights,weekends, and holidays u25cfAbility to perform physical requirements of the role includingstanding/walking for the entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, usingstairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
