Employer: Sumitomo Mitsui Banking CorporationJob Title: Vice President, Strategic Governance and Initiatives (ref#: 6674)Job Location: 277 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10172 Duties: Leverage subject matter expertise to serve as a strategic advisor to the risk organization, helping to optimize the effectiveness, sustainability, and overall value of implemented changes. Ensure the successful delivery of projects that address regulatory requirements and enhance risk management capabilitieswithin established time, budget, scope, and quality parameterswhile tracking and reporting initiative progress, identifying and managing risks, and maintaining transparent stakeholder communication. Lead and oversee the day-to-day execution, timeline management, and delivery milestones for assigned initiatives, ensuring alignment with divisional strategic objectives. Serve as project manager for a portfolio of risk initiatives within the designated area of domain expertise. Manage relationships with risk area heads accountable for the oversight of associated risks, fostering collaboration and accountability. Operate within a structured program and project governance framework designed to ensure disciplined, transparent, and focused execution. Provide strategic input and thought leadership to continuously improve program delivery and risk management processes. Hybrid remote work permitted Requirements: Masters degree in business administration, economics, finance or a related field plus 7 years of experience, or in the alternative, a bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance or a related field plus 9 years of experience. Experience must include the following: project management at financial institutions, including project plan development, stakeholder engagement, financial reporting, communications, and escalations; risk management concepts and processes to shape and drive effective solutions; risk analytics and working with quantitative analytics practitioners; managing projects with technology components; and U.S. regulatory stress testing at financial firm.
