Seasonal Cemetery Laborer at City of Salmon in Salmon, Idaho, United States Job Description Position OverviewThe City of Salmon is looking for a hardworking, respectful, and reliable individual to joinour team as a Seasonal Cemetery Laborer. This role is essential in maintaining the dignityand beauty of our local cemetery. You’ll spend your days outdoors performing hands-onmaintenance, ensuring the grounds are pristine for visitors and families honoring theirloved ones.Key Responsibilities• Grounds Maintenance: Mowing, weed-whacking, edging around headstones, andblowing debris off pathways and grave markers. Work to accomplish successfulmaintenance of restrooms, grounds, and facilities. Ability to perform irrigation repairand cemetery-specific tasks such as marking and digging graves.• Operational Support: Assisting with the preparation of burial sites and therestoration of turf following services.• Cleanup: Collecting and disposing of withered floral arrangements and generallitter.• Equipment Care: Performing basic cleaning and daily checks on mowers, trimmers,and hand tools.Required Qualifications• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions(heat, wind, or light rain) for extended periods.• Mobility: Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and stretch; must have the vision andhearing necessary to operate vehicles and communicate effectively.• Environment: Must be willing to work long hours and perform tasks in inclementweather.• Reliability: A strong track record of showing up on time and working independently.• Respectful Conduct: A professional and quiet demeanor is required, especiallywhen visitors are present or services are being held.• Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.• Driver’s License: A valid driver's license is preferred for operating city utilityvehicles.• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude; proficiency in operating backhoes,tractors, power tools, and irrigation systems.Note: Schedule and hours may vary depending on the season and specific needs of theCity.
