New Orleans, LA, USA Construction Materials Testing Hourly Other Position Summary Thompson Engineering is searching for a Project Controls Administrator to support the Project Management team by maintaining accurate project controls data, assembling weekly and monthly reports, supporting invoices, and ensuring that cost documentation is complete, accurate, and delivered on time. This position is structured as a temporary assignment with the potential to transition into additional project opportunities based on performance and business needs. This role is highly focused on organization, data integrity, and cross-functional coordination with project managers, engineering, accounting, and finance teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, takes ownership of responsibilities, and consistently follows through to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. Key Responsibilities u2022 Maintain and update project controls documentation, including cost reports, forecasts, change logs, and supporting files u2022 Support cost control activities, including invoice review, cost coding validation, and budget vs. actual reporting u2022 Ensure consistent file management and version control within shared drives and document systems; maintain templates and standards u2022 Partner with Project Managers and Project Controls teams to identify data gaps, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting efficiency u2022 Take ownership of assigned deliverables from initiation through completion, ensuring deadlines are met u2022 Adhere to client and company procedures, including confidentiality and audit-readiness requirements u2022 Interact with clients and participate in project meetings Required Qualifications u2022 2+ years of experience in project administration, project controls support, cost/schedule support, or a similar coordination role u2022 Strong Excel skills, including filters, pivot tables, and lookups, with the ability to work with large datasets u2022 Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines u2022 Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow up effectively with multiple stakeholders u2022 Experience maintaining logs, trackers, and standardized reporting packages u2022 Working knowledge of invoicing, timesheets, and per diem processes Preferred Qualifications u2022 Familiarity with project controls concepts and best practices u2022 Experience with ERP, procurement, or invoicing systems (e.g., BST) and cost coding structures u2022 Experience supporting engineering, construction, utilities, or industrial projects Location and Schedule u2022 Location: Atlanta, GA (flexible hybrid schedule) u2022 Remote: Fully remote candidates will be considered, particularly those located in the Southeastern United States u2022 Hours: Standard business hours, with occasional extended hours during reporting cycles or critical project milestones
