What We Offer Novant Health Pediatrics South Ballantyne is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Work Schedule: Four days per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 amu20135:00 pm; occasional Saturdays from 9:00am-11:00am The role of the CMA is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population. What You'll Do Job responsibilities include: + Work alongside the provider to support patient care + Room patients and prepare them for examinations + Obtain and record vital signs + Perform clinical tests as required + Administer vaccines and medications per protocol + Assist with inventory management and ordering medical supplies + Support audit preparation and compliance activities + Perform other related duties as assigned What We're Looking For + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. + Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: u2022 CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) u2022 CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) u2022 RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) u2022 American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) u2022 National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) u2022 National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) u2022 American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement. + Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. + Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required. + Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
