As a Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture u2022 Lead the design and implementation of end to end application solutions using Angular, Java, and Informatica. u2022 Serve as the technical authority for application architecture, design patterns, and integration approaches. u2022 Review and approve technical designs, code changes, and data integration logic to ensure quality and consistency. u2022 Guide teams on best practices for performance, security, scalability, and maintainability. Application Development & Delivery u2022 Hands on development and oversight of: o Angular based UI components and client side architecture o Java back end services, APIs, and business logic o Informatica mappings, workflows, and data pipelines u2022 Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions. u2022 Ensure timely delivery of features, enhancements, and defect fixes. Data Integration & ETL u2022 Lead Informatica based data integration efforts, including source to target mappings, transformations, and scheduling. u2022 Ensure data quality, reliability, and traceability across systems. u2022 Support batch and near real time integrations as required by business use cases. SDLC, Quality & Governance u2022 Enforce SDLC standards, including design reviews, code reviews, testing, and documentation. u2022 Partner with QA teams to ensure adequate unit, integration, and regression testing. u2022 Support audit, risk, and compliance activities by providing documentation and evidence as required. u2022 Promote disciplined change management and release practices. Production Support & Stability u2022 Act as a technical escalation point for production issues and incidents. u2022 Perform root cause analysis and drive long term fixes to improve platform stability. u2022 Monitor application health, performance, and data flows; proactively address risks. Team Leadership & Collaboration u2022 Mentor and guide developers, ETL engineers, and junior team members. u2022 Provide technical direction during sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives. u2022 Collaborate closely with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, security, and operations teams. ________________________________________ Required Qualifications Experience u2022 5+ years of overall IT experience with strong hands on development background u2022 3+ years in a technical lead or application lead role u2022 Proven experience leading applications across UI, API, and data integration layers Technical Skills u2022 Front End: Angular (modern versions), TypeScript, HTML, CSS u2022 Back End: Java, Spring / Spring Boot, RESTful APIs u2022 Data Integration: Informatica PowerCenter and/or IICS (mappings, workflows, scheduling) u2022 Databases: Strong SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar) u2022 DevOps/Tools: Git, CI/CD pipelines, issue tracking (e.g., Jira), logging/monitoring tools u2022 Architecture: Layered architecture, API integration, data flows, batch processing Soft Skills u2022 Strong ownership mindset and accountability for application outcomes u2022 Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders u2022 Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments with governance controls u2022 Strong problem solving and decision making skills ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications u2022 Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries u2022 Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern deployment models u2022 Exposure to security standards, data privacy, and audit expectations u2022 Prior experience supporting business critical or customer facing platforms ________________________________________ Role Characteristics (for leveling clarity) u2022 Hands on technical contributor and technical leader u2022 Owns application design and technical decisions u2022 Influences delivery and quality across multiple teams or components Acts as a bridge between engineering, data, and business stakeholders PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance.
