No County New York Street Address 801 2nd Ave City New York State NY Zip Code 10017 Duties Description The office of NYS Senator Kristen Gonzalez is seeking a District Director to join our District Office team. Senator Gonzalez represents the 59th District in the New York State Senate which includes parts of three boroughs, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, and she Chairs two committees, the Committee on Internet and Technology and the Committee on Elections. The District Director serves as the primary manager of the district office operations and community affairs team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and effective community engagement. The District Director will also be responsible for working with the team to drive community affairs organizing and office outreach strategies. The District Director will report directly to the Chief of Staff and work closely with the Senator to maintain strong community relations and efficient office operations.Key Responsibilities:u2022Provides day-to-day staff management of community liaisons, including task prioritization and quality assuranceu2022Manages constituent services by assigning casework to liaisons and reporting on weekly case loads and progress u2022Drives long term district organizing strategies around ongoing issues u2022Coordinates with the Scheduler to manage weekly and weekend staffing requirementsu2022Oversees district events, including town halls, resource fairs and district drivesu2022Maintains comprehensive issue tracking through detailed memos and meeting notesu2022Manages district budget, including the distribution of discretionary and capital fundsu2022Supports hiring operations, including resume screening and conducting preliminary phone interviews Minimum Qualifications Key Abilities & Experience:u2022Strong management experience, when an emphasis on office management and staff supervisionu2022Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneouslyu2022Excellent organizational and leadership abilitiesu2022Strong budgeting and financial management experienceu2022Outstanding interpersonal and communication skillsu2022Experience in community outreach and event planningu2022Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive mattersu2022Demonstrated commitment to community service and public engagementu2022Required to live in New York State upon beginning of employmentBonus Points If You:u2022Are a resident of SD 59u2022Speak Spanish, Bangla, or Polishu2022Have previous experience working in government or political officesu2022Possess knowledge of the district's demographic and community needs Additional Comments The salary range is $75,000 to $85,000 per year based on experience (full time overtime exempt position).
