Job Description

Description We are seeking an experienced and handsu2011on Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the organizationu2019s financial operations within a U.S. Government contracting environment. This role is highly visible and plays a key part in supporting leadership decisionu2011making, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes. The ideal candidate brings deep GovCon experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to own accounting functions endu2011tou2011end. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting + Prepare, review, and present accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to senior management + Ensure reporting accuracy and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements Accounting Operations + Lead monthu2011end and yearu2011end close processes with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance + Maintain and enhance accounting policies to ensure consistency with GAAP and regulatory standards + Oversee general accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and close activities Analysis & Decision Support + Perform detailed variance analysis, identifying root causes and financial implications + Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights to leadership Contract Lifecycle & Program Support + Partner with program and project managers to monitor contract performance, including burn rates, funding ceilings, and profitability Compliance & Audits + Lead all DCAA and DCMA audit preparation and serve as the primary point of contact for government auditors + Ensure ongoing compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements Internal Controls + Develop, maintain, and continually improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy + Assess control effectiveness regularly and implement enhancements to mitigate risk Cash Flow Management + Oversee cash flow operations, ensuring effective cash management and timely payments + Provide cash flow forecasting, analysis, and insights to support liquidity planning Requirements Required Qualifications + Education: Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or Masteru2019s degree preferred) + Experience: 5u201310 years of progressive accounting experience within U.S. Government contracting + Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of FAR, CAS, GAAP, and DCAA compliance standards + Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to clearly communicate complex financial information to nonu2011finance stakeholders Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
