We also provide a 401(k) savings plan, Employee Assistance Program, a tuition reimbursement program, professional development and advancement opportunities.Join our team, be part of the solution, support evolving innovations, and help us continue providing quality products, all while being supported by strong leadership and a comprehensive and competitive benefits programEnsure all assigned facilities maintain compliance with applicable environmental regulations, including air, water, and waste requirementsOversee preparation and submission of required permit applications and reports, including Title V air permits and compliance certificationsProvide direct support to plant teams during audits, and regulatory interactions/communicationsInterpret regulatory requirements and ensure consistent implementation across all sitesSupport plants in managing emissions of NOx, SO₂, CO, particulate matter, and other regulated pollutantsPartner with operations to troubleshoot environmental issues impacting production or complianceEnsures all environmental permits/regulatory plans are renewed in a timely manner and kept current with any applicable facility changesConduct routine site visits, audits, and gap assessments to ensure consistency and identify risksShare best practices across plants to improve compliance reliability and operational efficiencyDevelop and implement standardized environmental procedures, tools, and reporting processes among plants and across the companyProactively identify compliance risks and work with plant teams to mitigate them before escalationKeeps aware of environmental regulatory changes with the potential to impact compay operation, and communicates these changes to the appropriate company managmentProvides training for the environmental program; trains and coordinates the environmental management teamCoach and support site-level environmental staff and operational teamsServe as the primary environmental resource for environmental engineers and plant managers, CAPEX, logistics and other functional groupsCoach and support site-level environmental staff and operational teamsCollaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on projects impacting environmental complianceSeeks opportunities to promote and instill an attitude of cost and profit consciousness among subordinatesBachelor’s degree required; preferably in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or related scienceA minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the environmental field; with a strong background in air permitting/compliance preferredIn-depth knowledge of:Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and RCRAAir permitting, emissions reporting, and regulatory inspectionsContinuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS)Familiarity with cement manufacturing processes and kiln operations strongly preferredAbility to manage competing priorities across multiple sitesStrong problem-solving skills with a focus on operational solutionsEffective communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organizationProven ability to influence without direct authorityKnowledge of chemical and scientific nomenclature and able to use mathematical calculationsFrequent travel (approximately 20 - 30%) to support multiple facilities within area of responsibility
