The role involves actively leading QA initiatives, including conducting training, assisting in internal and external audits, collaborating with cross functional teams to standardize Quality processes, and assisting in the development, tracking and implementation of corrective actions.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.Leads improvement initiatives and Quality Team Communications.Ensures implementation, oversight, and management of the Quality Assurance Program on a site level basisLeads customer visits & auditsManages internal/external AAR auditsEvaluates quality workload demands to determine adequate resource allocation to support facility Quality AssuranceEnsures process nonconformance’s are reported, entered into the nonconformance application and analyzedLeads and participates in continuous improvement opportunities resulting from RCA data analysisSupervises and coordinates activities for InspectionsEnsures adherence to Greenbrier safety policies and proceduresContributes to the overall performance from the standpoints of safety, quality, profitabilityManages in process inspection and final inspection audits to ensure compliance with quality programFacilitates root cause and corrective action processes with cross-functional operations teamEnsure all required customer, AAR regulatory and Greenbrier standards, specifications and instruction are maintainedEvaluates and coordinates with the Plant Manager and Functional Leaders the operational and quality training needsQualificationsThe following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.Minimum QualificationsAbility to help others learn and developAbility to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and sensitive informationAbility to organize and prioritize projects and information with accuracy, under tight timeframes, to meet organizational needsAbility to communicate and collaborate professionally, both verbally and in writing, at all levelsPreferred QualificationsDegree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent, or five years experience in quality assurance, including two years in a Quality Manager role.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SmartSheetWorking knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and The Association of American Railroads (AAR) regulationsWork Environment and Physical RequirementsWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
