The name derives from the particular manner of hospitality, one that feels more like staying at the home of a dear friend than at a hotel — discreet, refined, generous. Our hotel has 90 rooms and suites with four distinct F&B concepts led by an acclaimed chef. The street-side seafood restaurant and second floor cocktail bar will be venues that are open to the public. The Apartment and The Rooftop are spaces reserved exclusively for guests and friends of guests.Purpose of the Role:The Manner, one of New York City’s most distinctive luxury lifestyle hotels, is seeking a dynamic Senior Sales Manager to drive group and corporate sales, with a strong focus on group business. This is responsible for new business development, meeting financial goals, and maximizing revenue across all segments. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in a Sales Manager role, with a proven track record selling luxury travel within the corporate and group segments, and a strong ability to proactively generate new business, paired with a self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standardsTake ownership of assigned accounts and markets, to meet and/or exceed established sales goalsPlay an active role in annual corporate and consortia RFP process, for assigned accountsExcellent time management skills with the ability to multitaskManage individual corporate reservation quotesInput detailed profile notes in Opera and Triple Seat to help develop a guest databaseAbility to maintain strong partnerships through effective communicationCollaborate with Finance Dept. to audit transient commissions and ensure prompt paymentTake ownership of all incoming group requests and communication with Revenue Management to provide clients with a response within 2hrsBe responsible for booking events and groups which are profitable by following up on inquiries, site inspections, and booking procedures and thus meeting the sales and events budgets!Adhere to weekly and monthly sales activities including offsite appointments, site tours, networking events, and prospectingManage Corporate negotiated RFP submission: Tracking/Management of RFP Tool / RFP submission once approved by DOSExecute all locally negotiated rate agreementsManage corporate and entertainment rate loading process and auditing from start to finishCoordinate client site inspections and effectively communicate to Front Office, Housekeeping, and other parties involvedCoordinate with Guest experience Manager to ensure VIPs are communicated throughout all DepartmentsAttend regularly scheduled meetings: daily morning meetings, revenue meetings, group resume meetings, etc. as required.Support DOS on all administrative tasks related to the Sales department including sharing any relevant communication with other departmentsBook and service groups with events in all hotel spaces as well as food and beverage venues such as the bar, penthouse and rooftop.Provides history, requests deposits, complete credit applications as well as follow up on group’s success while on site and after event for re-booking purposes (within hotel policy).Actively upselling each request to maximum profitability and sales.Maintains an updated file of potential and existing clients with detailed information profile about their potential and production.Other duties as assigned by management.RESONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:Qualified inquiries and phone callsConduct site inspections with clients as needed.Attend sales meetings and any other meetings as required.Assists in entertaining clients as required.Acts as liaison between F&B and Hotel operating departments.Attends client/association/company events as required.Assists in the handling of telephone and walk-in inquiries.Assist Sales with the input of group resumes, blocks and general reservations.Consults with Accounting on billing procedures as required.Assist Director of Sales in preparing and submitting production reports, activity reports, sales trips reports and action plans, and other reports as necessary in a timely manner.Participates in trade shows and blitzes as required.Regularly conducts competitive price shoppingAssists in the general office duties, weekly activities and sales call plans outlining activities, proposals and business overall as necessary.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum 5 years of experience in a Sales Manager or similar role within luxury hospitalityProven success in corporate and group sales segmentsStrong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsHighly organized with excellent time management and multitasking abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with Opera, Triple seat, Lanyon, or Hotel Intelligence preferredDetail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and follow-throughFluent in English; additional languages are a plusPhysical:Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 25 lbs.May require extended time in a seated positionMust be able to move throughout the property with easeUSD $85,000.00/Yr.USD $95,000.00/Yr.
