Description Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Binghamton client of his on a newly created hiring need. This growing organization is looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to help manage essential financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial records. This role involves overseeing general ledger processes, supporting financial reporting, and contributing to audits and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting practices and play a pivotal role in supporting budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities. Responsibilities: u2022 Help prepare and record journal entries for regular and complex transactions, such as adjustments, accruals, and reclassifications. u2022 Ensure all financial transactions are accurately documented and comply with organizational policies. u2022 Perform detailed reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, addressing discrepancies promptly. u2022 Support month-end and year-end closing processes to meet deadlines and reporting requirements. u2022 Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting documents. u2022 Generate department-specific financial reports and provide insights to leadership. u2022 Help prepare audit schedules and documentation to facilitate internal and external audits. u2022 Ensure compliance with tax regulations, internal controls, and company standards. u2022 Collaborate on the development and implementation of procedures to enhance financial workflows. u2022 Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing financial trends and preparing relevant materials. Requirements u2022 Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes is a plus. u2022 Proficiency in managing general ledger activities and journal entries. u2022 Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights. u2022 Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis is an asset. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
