We are looking for a Communications Manager that can provide strategic leadership and deliver clear, consistent messaging across internal, external, and media channels. This professional will bring strong writing expertise, sound judgment, and proven peopleu2011management skills to effectively support organizational goals and engage key audiences. Essential Functions: + Responsible for managing communications for a department and/or division such as media, public relations, external customer/community communications and/or internal employee communications. + Communication responsibilities may include the following: creative editorial and design services, writing news releases, crisis communications, internal communication programs, vendor communications, media advisories, fact sheets, background materials, community reports, executive speeches, press releases and/or website content. + Responsible for the development and implementation of communications plans and activities for audiences. + Develops, creates and/or edits copy for various print and electronic publications. + May oversee content management for the intranet site, including content updates and assists other subject matter experts responsible for updates to division and other pages. + Works closely with marketing, product, content and other communications staff, as well as with other departments. Qualifications: + Requires a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or a related field and 6+ years experience in writing, editing and producing communications or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications. + Supervisory/Management experience required. + Employs advanced knowledge as a generalist or specialist of and experience in writing and communications, both for print and electronic mediums, public relations and journalism. + Knowledge of various computer systems and applications, specifically interactive digital media software. + Ability to work effectively with people. + Creative contributor and problem solver with excellent attention to detail. + Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. + Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form. + Ability to write policies, procedures and articles/stories for traditional and electronic media. + Extensive knowledge of communication research, planning and strategy.
