The Idaho Transportation Departmentu2019s Division of Aeronautics is currently seeking a skilled, certified Aircraft Mechanic to ensure state-owned aircraft are maintained in a safe and airworthy condition. Applicants must possess a current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate with Inspection Authorization (IA). The state operates three aircraftu2014a King Air 250, a Kodiak 100, and a Cessna T206. Most maintenance is performed in-house at the Aeronautics Division facility in Boise. Key responsibilities: + Perform annual and phase inspections and comply with Airworthiness Directives in accordance with Federal Air Regulations + Inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul single and twin-engine cabin class aircraft (turboprop and reciprocating engines) + Maintain and repair aircraft powerplants, airframes, electrical systems, and interior/exterior components + Certify aircraft as safe and airworthy + Coordinates with Director of Flight Operations to schedule and prepare aircraft for flying and maintenance + Coordinates with vendors when aircraft work is outsourced + Maintain aircraft records including logbooks, work orders, purchase orders, and related documentation + Purchase replacement parts and maintain inventory and supply records + Maintain shop, hangar, maintenance library and ground support equipment + Use gas and arc welding equipment to repair and fabricate parts + Maintain knowledge of HAZMAT requirements, respond to hazardous material incidents, and participate in Safety Program + Assist with Search and Rescue (SAR) operations Minimum Qualifications: + Some knowledge of: Inventory maintenance and aircraft record maintenance and publications. Experience: + Determining work priorities + Repairing and overhauling general aviation single and twin-engine cabin class aircraft (reciprocating engines) + Certification: Current Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Current Inspection Authorization Certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration in accordance with FAA DOT Regulation 91.409, 91.407, subsection 43.7, 65.95.
