DescriptionUnder the direction of the Unit Chief, regularly performs all of the clerical support functions of a Support Clerk for legal and other staff relating to URESA, UIFSA, Family Support Act, and Paternity cases, includes entering information on cases to computer system and preparing and processing a variety of legal documents. Prepares documents to serve defendants on paternity and support cases. u00a0Enters information to system to update records. Also serves as computer systems manager for the unit, includes responding to trouble calls, training, and maintaining and updating programs and manuals.u00a0Essential Functions1. Generates reports as required. u00a0Enters DNA dates with conference rooms and codes new forms and edits existing forms in the Child Support Enforcement System. Participates in security audits.u00a02. Maintains terminals, printers, and related equipment, and responds to trouble calls and assesses problems. u00a0Contacts the MICSES or County IT for assistance as necessary. u00a0Packages and returns equipment for repair.u00a03. Trains new staff on computer system and trains existing staff on enhancements to the system. Completes forms necessary for new employees and employees leaving.4. Attends training seminars for Systems Manager as provided by PAAMu00a05. u00a0Assists lead caseworker and Unit Chief with upgrades and enhancements, and u00a0 u00a0implements changes to the computer hardware and/or software. Processes child support cases, includes setting up appointments for incoming referrals, downloading and inputting data to computer, generating complaints, summons, ex parte orders, URESA and UIFSA petitions, proofs of service, wage requests and various motions and orders. u00a0Ensures files are in order and complete for court proceedings.u00a08. Prepares necessary paperwork to serve defendants on paternity and support cases and ensures service of process, including serving defendants coming into office or using certified mail or personal service. u00a0Explains process to defendant.u00a09. Enters dates, events, service dates and other update information to the system. u00a0Maintains manual records as necessary.u00a010. Contacts custodial parents to obtain necessary information related to child support and paternity case files and complaints. u00a0Enters information to computer system and generates pleadings and other legal documents for client to sign. u00a0Explains documents and procedures to clients, typically in the unavailability of a caseworker.u00a011. Prepares orders, adjournments, default judgments, proof of service, and other documents related to paternity and support cases.u00a012. Assists in the development of cases by communicating with other governmental offices within and outside the State and collecting and exchanging information.u00a013. Monitors time requirements required by court rules on each case. u00a0Schedules appointments for parties.u00a014. Screens and directs telephone calls to investigators, attorneys, Department of Health and Human Services, or Friend of the Court, includes answering questions, scheduling appointments, taking new information, and providing status reports to Program participants.15.
