Job Description : The New York Post provides readers with the best in News, Sports, Pop Culture and Entertainment u2013 with signature wit, irreverence, and authority averaging 90 million unique monthly viewers. Over the past 224 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce. The New York Post digital team is looking for a full-time Wellness Reporter (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) plugged into the world of health and wellness. This person must be a self-starter with the ability to break down complicated studies into lively and informative copy. Theyu2019ll be expected to write several stories a day on deadline, covering everything from trends and social media posts to new medical studies and breaking news. In addition to working on original service-driven pieces, theyu2019ll also report out health-related features. These might include digging into the debate over a controversial wellness topic or finding real people to discuss personal health struggles. Responsibilities: u25cf Craft clean, compelling and well-sourced health news articles on tight deadlines u25cf Produce a variety of content, including quick hits and longer reported features, often juggling multiple projects at once u25cf Pitch both timely and evergreen story ideas while monitoring trending health topics on social media u25cf Analyze health studies and statistics, translating them into engaging and understandable copy u25cf Quickly develop an understanding of New York Post readers and the kind of content they find engaging, relying on good news judgement and analytics u25cf When necessary, edit and self-publish articles with adherence to publication standards Requirements: u25cf Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field u25cf At least three years of experience as a health or lifestyle reporter with experience writing features u25cf Exceptional writing skills with a keen understanding of SEO principles u25cf Creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh perspectives and angles on health topics u25cf Proficiency in editing and self-publishing processes to ensure accuracy and adherence to publication guidelines u25cf Experience using analytics tools to inform content strategy and identify audience interests u25cf Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards u25cf Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS _Note: This role will be required to report on-site 5 days per week._ Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status or any other protected characteristic.
