Job Description

Job Title: Welder Job Description Join our team as a skilled welder where you will perform welding operations using various processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, all under AWS certification standards. You will read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and welding procedure specifications to ensure precise fabrication. Additionally, setting up, operating, and maintaining welding equipment, tools, and fixtures will be integral to your daily tasks. Responsibilities + Perform welding operations using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, or other qualified processes under AWS certification. + Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, WPS, and fabrication drawings accurately. + Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, tools, and fixtures efficiently. + Inspect welds visually and with measuring tools to ensure compliance with AWS standards and project specifications. + Adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE use, hot-work procedures, and OSHA guidelines. + Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals as required. + Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality inspectors to ensure project accuracy. + Perform repairs, rework, and adjustments to meet quality requirements. + Maintain accurate documentation of welds, materials, and inspection results. + Support continuous improvement efforts in welding processes and shop practices. Essential Skills + Current AWS Welder Certification (e.g., D1.1 Structural Steel, D1.2 Aluminum, D1.3 Sheet Steel, D1.6 Stainless Steel). + Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial, structural, or fabrication welding. + Ability to pass weld tests according to AWS standards. + Strong understanding of welding safety practices and OSHA regulations. + Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions (overhead, vertical, confined spaces). + Proficiency with grinders, torches, cutting tools, and measuring instruments. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in HVAC, plumbing, duct work, fabrication, cast iron, sheet metal, construction, general labor, and duct installation. + Ability to use power and hand tools proficiently. + Skill in using a tape measure accurately. Work Environment The work environment involves handling various metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. You will work in different positions, including overhead, vertical, and confined spaces, following strict safety protocols and OSHA guidelines. The use of PPE and adherence to hot-work procedures is mandatory. You will collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality inspectors in a team-oriented setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
