Job Description

Job Title: Architectural Designer Job Description The Architectural Designer supports the full architectural design process by translating existing drawings into accurate digital models, performing field verifications, and producing high-quality planning, schematic, design development, rendering, and construction documents. This role collaborates closely with the project team to refine and revise design documents as needed and contributes to design charrettes, client presentations, and contract administration activities. Responsibilities + Input existing drawings into computer-aided design software and ensure accurate digital documentation. + Conduct field verifications to confirm existing conditions and update drawings and models accordingly. + Create planning and schematic design documents under the direction of Sr team members. + Develop design development drawings and detailed construction documents that support project delivery. + Produce architectural renderings and visualizations using appropriate design and rendering software. + Revise and update design documents based on feedback, coordination needs, and project changes. + Support the architectural design process, including participation in design charrettes and collaborative work sessions. + Assist in preparing materials for presentations to internal teams and external stakeholders. + Support contract administration tasks as directed, helping to maintain clear and accurate project documentation. + Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other team members to ensure coordinated and cohesive design solutions. + Maintain organized project files and documentation within CAD and office software systems. Essential Skills + Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, including Revit, is required. + Experience using architectural rendering programs to create visualizations and presentations. + Ability to produce planning, schematic, design development, and construction documents. + Strong drafting skills with attention to accuracy and detail. + Ability to revise and update design documents efficiently based on direction and feedback. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is strongly preferred. + Capability to perform field verifications and translate site conditions into accurate drawings. + Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and project documentation. + Effective communication and collaboration skills within a design team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Revit in an architectural or interior design setting. + Familiarity with AutoCAD and other architectural design and drafting tools. + Interest in interior design and architectural detailing. + Ability to contribute to design charrettes and collaborative brainstorming sessions. + Comfort preparing and supporting presentations for internal and external audiences. + Interest in participating in community and volunteer activities through the workplace. Work Environment This is an in-office role with a consistent on-site presence expected each workday. The schedule offers flexibility throughout the year, including Friday afternoons off. The office follows a smart casual dress code, allowing jeans to be worn every day. The workplace culture emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and team engagement, with a variety of monthly activities such as mini golf, charades, and other team-building events. The organization supports involvement in the community and offers multiple events throughout the year that support local organizations, including 16 hours of volunteer time off. Employees receive 112 hours of paid time off, with the ability to carry over up to 80 hours into the next year, as well as an additional day off to celebrate their work anniversary. The office is closed from December 24 through January 1, providing additional time away from work. The environment supports some flexibility to accommodate personal and family needs while maintaining an in-office presence and utilizing CAD, Revit, architectural rendering software, and Microsoft Office Suite in day-to-day work. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Cedar Falls, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $60000.00/yr. Will attach when received.
