The Team Youu2019ll Work With: The Print Shop provides photocopying, offset printing, typesetting, and finishing services to all departments within the Office of the Mayor and ensures that all materials, supplies, equipment, and services required by the Mayoru2019s Office staff reflect the highest standards of quality. The Problems Youu2019ll Solve: The printshop Manager will lead and oversee the print production and operations of the print shop, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will also act as the strategic and artistic leader for the print shopu2019s visual communications. By developing visual concepts aligned with mayoral unit objectives, this role requires staff management experience, technical expertise, and customer service. - Oversee all aspects of print shop operations, from prepress and production to finishing and distribution, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. - Manage print production schedules, coordinate with units to understand needs, and advise on optimal print solutions. - supervise, train, and evaluate staff; ensure safe, proper, and efficient use of equipment; and foster a skilled, motivated workforce. - Develops visual concepts and designs printed materials such as invitations, logos, promotional materials, reports, brochures, and programs for units within the Mayoru2019s Office. - Maintain an organized inventory of paper, ink, and other supplies; monitor usage and reorder as needed to avoid disruptions. - Develops visual concepts in line with the company's objectives. - Supervises the production of communication materials, whether brochures, websites, or promotional videos. - Work with internal departments, suppliers, and external partners to meet project requirements and industry standards. - Design and implement streamlined workflows to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and increase productivity. - Develop and manage the print shop budget; prepare cost estimates for jobs; and control expenses to maintain profitability. - Other related duties as assigned. About You: - You have proven experience in print production, graphic design, management, and operations. - You have strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. - You are technically proficient with print equipment, software, and inventory systems. - You can work independently and manage multiple priorities. - You have excellent communication and customer service skills. Work Environment: - Office setting, with some travel to business units or meetings. The role requires attention to detail, adaptability to changing project demands, and the ability to manage staff, technical, and administrative aspects of the business. - You must be able to frequently lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs. while standing or walking. - This position is critical for ensuring that the print shop delivers high-quality, cost-effective services while maintaining operational excellence and team performance.
