Milton CAT is seeking a detail‑oriented Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician to prepare new and used heavy equipment for customer delivery. This position is responsible for inspecting, configuring, and preparing a wide range of equipment—including paving equipment, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and related attachments—to ensure all machines meet Milton CAT quality, safety, and manufacturer standards prior to delivery. The PDI Technician plays a key role in delivering equipment that is fully configured, properly assembled, and ready for immediate use by our customers.Pay Rate: $28.50 - $37.89 an hour based on location and experience. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.Associate’s degree in a related technical field or 1-3 years of hands‑on experience working with heavy equipment; experience with paving equipment preferredStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform equipment setup, inspections, and minor adjustmentsProficient in the use of computers and related software for inspection documentation and reportingDemonstrated problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracyAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting quality and delivery expectationsComfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic service environment with shifting prioritiesAbility to perform duties with a sense of urgency while consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectationsAbility to safely lift and carry 50 pounds or moreMaintain a personal tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasksWillingness and ability to work flexible hours, including after‑hours work when requiredThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
