Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a professional, friendly, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to support our St. Petersburg North office at Academic Alliance in Dermatology.Schedule: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM The Front Desk Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, payment collection, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records (EMR). We believe in providing our new associates with intensive hands on training and long-term career growth opportunities from within.Duties & ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming mannerManage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and referralsAnswer and screen calls using a multi-line phone systemEnter and update patient demographics and insurance information in the electronic medical record (EMR) systemVerify insurance eligibility and review patient charts for accuracyCollect copays, balances, and patient paymentsCheck out patients and schedule follow-up appointmentsMaintain smooth front office operations and patient flowScan, upload, and distribute medical records, faxes, and correspondenceRespond promptly to patient messages and internal communicationAssist with basic billing and insurance-related questionsHelp maintain office and product inventory; place supply orders as neededPerform end-of-day duties including reports and payment reconciliation (when assigned)Support clinical and administrative staff as neededPerform other duties as assigned by managementEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required1 to 3 years of recent experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Front Desk, or Healthcare Receptionist (preferred)Experience working in a medical office, clinic, surgical practice, or dermatology office preferredPrior dermatology experience strongly preferredSkills/Abilities:Fluency in English & Spanish (preferred)Excellent customer service and patient communication skillsKnowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practicesAbility to multitask and manage a high-volume front desk environmentStrong organizational and time management skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced medical office settingDetail-oriented with strong accuracy in data entryExperience using a multi-line phone systemProficient with standard office equipment (computer, scanner, copier, fax)EMR/EHR experience required (such as EMA, ModMed, Epic, or similar systems)Fluent in English (bilingual skills a plus, if applicable)Ability to alphabetize and maintain organized medical records and filesWillingness to travel to nearby office locations for coverage when neededPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting with occasional standing, bending, and reachingManual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and office equipmentVision and hearing sufficient for computer work and telephone communicationAbility to lift and carry up to 30 poundsFull time employees (defined as regularly working at least 30 hours per week) are eligible for the following benefits:Medical, Dental & Vision insurance - effective 1st of the month after date of startShort-term and long-term disability, Voluntary life (employee, spouse, and child), Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity - Effective the 1st of the month following date of hireCompany provided Basic Life/AD&D insurancePaid time offPaid holidaysRetirement Savings accountEmployee discount on cosmetic services and products
