In this role, youu2019ll develop flight test instrumentation supporting the worldu2019s premier aircraft. A successful FTI engineer: + Works independently or leads a team to execute project, schedule, and technical requirements to meet the goals of the test program. + Is responsible for specification, selection, design, integration, operation and maintenance of airborne data acquisition systems, and their related components. This includes telemetry, flight test specific hardware, or prototypes for flight test evaluation. + Oversees installation, checkout, and calibration of data systems, to ensure collected data can be properly displayed, processed, and analyzed. + Maintains configuration control, and mission capability of the instrumentation system as well as all associated ground support equipment. + Supports preflight, post-flight, and control room activities for all scheduled missions. + Interfaces with test ops, maintenance, management, and customers to ensure all instrumentation requirements are coordinated and accounted for. Some shift, extended hours, weekend work and travel may be required. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. No dual citizenship will be considered. REF: Engineering, Aeronautics, aeroTE, aeroFTI Basic Qualifications: u25cf Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. u25cf Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret clearance. u25cf Exposure, general interest, and experience in flight test and instrumentation. u25cf Willing to work occasional weekends, night shift and extended hours. Desired Skills: u25cf ABET-accredited bacheloru2019s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or related field; masteru2019s preferred. u25cf Active Secret clearance, Top Secret/SCI preferred. u25cf Specific experience in instrumentation such as using schematics, diagrams, technical documentation, and test equipment. u25cf Security+ certification. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
