Teaching responsibilities include courses in pathophysiologythat support both the undergraduate Biology program and Master programin Biomedical Science, an advanced physiology course for the Doctoratein Nurse Anesthesia program, as well as additional biology courses forpre-medical and other pre-health professional students.The teaching load is 24 full-time undergraduate credit hour equivalentsper year (based on the load hour conversion model in the FacultyHandbook) or 18 graduate credit hour equivalents. Integrate mission values and the Strategic Plan of the University within individual courses and academic programs.2. Teach students in assigned classes in accordance with course descriptions and/or learning outcomes, the course syllabus, and institutional policies and procedures.3. Provide students with a syllabus that includes required institutional policies, course objectives, materials, and methods of evaluation.4. Provide a workload schedule showing teaching and office hours (minimum of 5 office hours per week).5. Maintain accurate and complete course records and submit final grades by the established deadlines.6. Communicate with and provide feedback to students in a timely fashion.7. Develop course curriculum and instructional materials (individually or collaboratively) and participate in their review within the discipline or department.8. Use knowledge of diverse communities and skill sets to diversify teaching methods and delivery of content in instruction.9. Provide effective instruction to facilitate student learning in all classes taught; evaluate and assess student learning on a regular basis.10. Participate in assessment activities at course, department, and university level to assist students in achieving designated course objectives or learning outcomes.11. Use appropriate technologies to enhance classroom or online instruction and to achieve established course objectives or learning outcomes.12. Regularly evaluate teaching methods and use data to continually improve instructional strategies.13. Serve on departmental, college, and/or district committees.14. Attend scheduled discipline, department, division, and college meetings.15. Participate in required program reviews and the achievement of departmental goals.16. Comply with all required college-level and program-level accreditation standards.17. Discuss program, career, or transfer options and other college services with students to support informed academic decisions.18. Participate in Fall and Winter Institutes, Convocations, Baccalaureate services and Commencement exercise when applicable.19. Maintain knowledge and competence in the appropriate academic discipline or workforce field.20. Maintain any required professional certification or licensure in the appropriate academic or technical discipline, where appropriate.21. Remain current with technological and pedagogical advances that promote continuous improvement of student learning.22. Participate in one's own performance review and evaluation.23. Complete all university-required trainings including FERPA and Title IX.24. Contribute to the overall success of the School of Arts and Sciences by completing other duties.Required Qualifications:1. A Master's degree in Biology and/or Physiology. (Ph.D. preferred).2. Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
