OAC EXTERNAL POSITION POSTING DATES POSTED: 04/10-05/10/2026 Job Title: Graphic Design Intern - Corporate Communication Starting Wage: $21.75 Department: Corporate Communications Location: 7350 World Communications Drive Omaha, Nebraska 68122 Schedule: Part-Time Shift: M-F; 1st Shift THIS INTERNSHIP IS NOT A SUMMER-ONLY ASSIGNMENT AND WILL BE STARTING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE Position Summary Under general supervision, assists the Corporate Communications team in developing visual materials that support District-wide communications initiatives. Contributes to the design and production of digital and print publications, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality standards. Projects may include social media graphics, internal campaigns, newsletters, presentations, event materials and customer communications. Provides support as needed for employee and customer events. Education + Required - One (1) year of college completed with a study emphasis in graphic design, fine arts, visual communication or a related field. If a recent graduate, must be pursuing post graduate hours. Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing + Required - Have and maintain a valid driveru2019s license Upon Hire + Required - Pre-employment Background Check & Drug Screen Upon Hire Knowledge, Skills and Abilities + Fundamental knowledge of graphic design principles (layout, typography, color theory, composition) + Understanding of brand standards and visual identity systems. + Familiarity with digital and print production processes. + Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). + Familiarity with social media content design. + Basic photography and/or photo editing skills. + Strong visual communication skills. + Must be a self-starter. + Ability to translate concepts and messaging into effective visual designs. + Clear written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and incorporate feedback. + Efficient written and verbal communication skills, in English, to assist internal and external customers, co-workers and management professionally, regardless of provocation. + Attention to detail and commitment to quality. + Time management and ability to meet deadlines. (Entry proficiency) + Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Willingness to learn and adapt in a professional environment. + Initiative and ability to work both independently and under supervision. + Proficiency with personal computers, tablets, and/or other electronic devices to include familiarity with, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and enterprise wide software (e.g., SAP). (Intermediate proficiency) + Ability to learn new or upgraded computer software as required. + Efficient written and verbal communication skills, in English, to assist internal and external customers, co-workers and management professionally, regardless of provocation. + Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary.
