FTE: 1.000000 Standard Hours: 40.00 Shift: 1st Shift Details:Monday - Friday,8:00 am - 4:30 pm Job Summary: To assess patientfinancial needs, assist patients and collect deposits according to theFroedtert Hospital Billing and Collection Policy in a professional andcourteous manner. To screen patients and assist with applications forapplicable governmental programs, the health insurance exchange, and/orthe Froedtert Health financial assistance program. To stress customerservice and positive interpersonal relations while working closely withAdmitting/Registration, Preauthorization, Care Management, appropriatedepartment personnel in Patient Financial Services and MCW ClinicalPractice Services in addressing financial responsibilities. FinancialCounselors at Froedtert Health play a vital role in helping patientsunderstand and manage the financial aspects of their healthcare. Theywork closely with patients to: Assess eligibility and assist withapplications for BadgerCare, Medicaid, Marketplace plans, andFroedtert's Financial Assistance Program Provide cost estimates andprepayment information for upcoming services Meet with patients invarious settings-bedside, in-office, or by phone-to address billingquestions Serve as a liaison between patients, the preauthorizationteam, and clinical departments to ensure seamless communication andsupport Why You'll Love Working With Us: Fast-paced, patient-facingrole with opportunities for direct interaction at the bedside,in-office, or via phone. Team structure: Approximately 20 members acrossinpatient and outpatient settings; outpatient team is larger. Careermobility and growth potential within the Patient Financial Services(PFS) department. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1 year of experience inhealthcare/revenue cycle functions (or other business office), casemanagement, or social work is required. Experience using Microsoft Word,Excel and other software programs is preferred. Experience using Epic ina healthcare environment is preferred. Experience in social work or casemanagement is preferred. EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent isrequired. Bachelor's degree in social work, case management, healthcareadministration, business administration, or other related field ispreferred. LICENSURE: State of Wisconsin and Federal CertifiedApplication Counselor Designation is preferred. In lieu of CertifiedApplication Counselor Designation, current Licensed Health InsuranceAgent is preferred.
