Summary This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), in the Desktop Delivery (JNRD) team of End User Services (JNR), Enterprise Technology Operations Services (JN), Information Technology (J). A successful candidate in the System Administrator, Application Virtualization Specialist position will serve as an IT specialist and technical expert for virtual Application management using Microsoft's AppV server. Responsibilities As a System Administrator, Application Virtualization Specialist, you will: Install, configure and deploy Microsoft App-V Server in an enterprise environment. Coordinate monthly updates to deployed software and packages to meet requirements outlined in secure baselines and standards for use in a government environment. Consult with applications developers to determine the effect on end user applications resulting from changes to the operating environment, e.g., new software or hardware installations. Lead/conduct studies designed to identify potential improvements in the way information technology is applied to key business functions. Assess new systems design methodologies to improve software quality. Accurately represent customer requirements. Present recommendations for adoption of new methodologies and lead implementation. Occasionally called outside regularly scheduled hours for consultation related to computer operations, equipment failure or program revisions. At times must come in to give assistance in correcting problems. May be required to participate in an after-hours On-Call rotation. Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENT: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
