Job Description

Position Summary:The Public Safety and Regulatory leadership leads teams to ensure compliance with the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Order (GO) 165. The leaders ensure that the electric distribution operations system facilities are in compliance with General Orders 95 and 128 through an efficient, compliant execution of GO165 inspections and patrols as well as a comprehensive quality work verification process. The leader adheres to all safety regulations and policies and practices and influences staff to adhere as well. Distribution leaders provide safe and reliable electric service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Orders, all safety regulations and other regulatory requirements. Flexible throughout PG&E North Bay, Sonoma and Humboldt Divisions. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.​ A reasonable salary range is:​ Bay Area Minimum: $​147,000.00 Bay Area Maximum: $​251,000.00 California Minimum: $​140,000.00 California Maximum: $238,000.00 Responsibilities: Leads staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition. Manages capital and expense spending to ensure work identified in the program plan is completed and productivity cost targets are achieved. Monitors employees' work and schedules to ensure effective work & resource planning and cost for assigned area. Performs field quality reviews (inspections) of employee’s work. Develops department long-term direction, operating plans, budgets, and performance metrics. Represents the company in contacts with other utilities, various industry boards, committees, regulatory agencies, governmental bodies, and other private organizations. Reviews current work practices for operational efficiencies and deficiencies. Oversees, and implements policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards to support business operating plans and goals. Presents findings and makes recommendations to Director. Prepares data and other reports for submission to regulatory agencies to fulfill compliance requirements. Provides guidance on the development of tools and processes that help the departments efficiently and effectively manage their compliance requirements. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience 10 years of experience in electric utility 5 years of leadership experience 2 years of experience interfacing with regulatory agencies Must obtain a California Drivers’ License by first day of employment Desired Qualifications: Job-related experience Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) Experience managing budgets Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions Using compelling arguments to gain the support and commitment of others Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward Providing direction, delegating, and removing obstacles to get work done Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
