Job Description Summary Job Summary: Houston, TX The Quality Specialist will be responsible for process and product compliance with engineering drawings, repair manuals, QMS procedures, ISO standards, and specifications through rigorous inspections and audits. Job Description Essential Duties & Responsibilities : u2022 Perform internal audits and review audit corrections and containments.. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve product defects and implement effective corrective actions. u2022 Perform verifications of non-conformance and implement corrective and preventive actions. u2022 Maintain accurate inspection reports and records in support of the Quality Management System. u2022 Provide training and defect awareness to shop personnel when non-conformances are found. u2022 Drive process improvements by initiating and participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and documenting findings in the Continuous Improvement system. u2022 Assist in developing procedures and work instructions when needed to sustain the process improvements. u2022 Work with sourcing and supplier to help resolve supplier non-conformances and implement corrective actions. u2022 Assist in improving routers and work scope/router compliance or other shop documentation. u2022 Support Quality Department, up to including inspections. u2022 Work with Quality Leader to conduct pre-hire characteristics verification test of turbine technician applicants. u2022 Perform other related duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications/Requirements : u2022 High School diploma or equivalent (GED). u2022 Minimum 5 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment. u2022 Minimum 3 years inspecting heavy industrial rotating equipment like gas turbine power generation. u2022 Minimum 2 years of QMS awareness or experience with ISO 9001 standards and Quality Management System procedures. u2022 Understanding of turbines and Repair Manuals, Work Scopes, Service Bulletins, and Changes in Designs (CIDs), including Aero Derivative gas Turbines. u2022 Proficient in computer skills: able to create, edit, and format data in Excel spreadsheets; create, modify, and edit using the current business database; create detailed PowerPoint presentations that include digital photographic inspection records. u2022 Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Desired Characteristics: u2022 RCA/troubleshooting experience with ability to significantly drive process and culture changes. u2022 Lead Auditor Certified. u2022 Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, code specifications, and technical manuals to verify products that follow the requirements set forth in these documents. u2022 Knowledge of quality software programs, Gensuite is a plus. u2022 Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and Quality Management System procedures. u2022 Capable of working with minimum supervision and has strong written and oral communication skills. u2022 Technical writing ability; able to create clear instruction to ensure compliance with quality requirements. u2022 Ability to interface professionally with various stakeholders (e.g., engineering, operations, sourcing, customers, suppliers, and external inspection agencies). u2022 Certified A&P License and Test Cell knowledge is a plus. u2022 Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, and other moving equipment. u2022 Experience with lean action workouts.
