The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position. We seek a collaborative and accomplished academic investigator with a strong commitment to translational research. The successful candidate will lead and advance a translational research program focused on the development and application of a nonhuman primate model of inflammation in baboons. This work is central to elucidating the mechanisms of inflammation and its impact on maternal and fetal outcomes. The Assistant Professor will design and execute innovative research studies, maintain precise and comprehensive scientific records, and ensure full compliance with institutional, ethical, and regulatory requirements. The role requires both independent initiative and active collaboration with multidisciplinary teams spanning basic, translational, and clinical research domains. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to high-impact research that advances maternal-fetal health, while supporting the broader academic mission of research, education, and service within the department. Position Information Position Title: Basic Sciences Assistant Professor Department/Division/School: Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences/Basic Sciences/University of Maryland School of Medicine Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 Background Checks Employment at UMB is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
