AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a 100% employee-owned federal government contractor, is seeking a Senior Web Applications Developer to support mission-critical initiatives at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Washington, DC. In this role, you will lead the modernization, enhancement, and maintenance of secure web applications that support data-driven decision-making and operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in React.js, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and RESTful API integration, along with the ability to refactor legacy systems, improve application scalability and performance, and collaborate with stakeholders in Agile development environments.THIS POSITION INCLUDES A $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS!As a Senior Web Application Developer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to do the following:Modernize and maintain web apps for scalability and performanceWrite modular code in React.js, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSSRefactor legacy code to reduce debt and improve readabilityBuild dashboards, workflows, and visualizations for data-driven appsOptimize SQL queries and ensure database performance and securityDefine and deliver scalable solutions with stakeholdersWork in Agile (Scrum, XP, Kanban) environmentsConduct code reviews and mentor junior developersProvide actionable reports and analytics for informed decisionsMaintain, modernize, and refactorweb applicationsfor improved scalability, performance, and maintainability.Active TS clearance w/SCI eligibilityBachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent years of relevant experience).8-10 years of relevant experience Active Security+ CE certificate or ability to obtain Security+ CE certification within 90 days of hireProficiency in React.js, Node.js, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, and SQLExperience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.Experience with Git or other version control systems.Ability to analyze, refactor, and improve legacy applications.Familiarity with Linux (RHEL) administration and update management.Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum or XP methodologies.NOTE: U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearanceTHIS POSITION INCLUDES A $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS!AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $108,100.00/Yr. - USD $180,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
