They lead all of the activities that make up a day (and week) of writing camp. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Lead camp activities: Whole group activities including: Icebreakers; daily writing reflections; writing exercises on genre (e.g., 2-voice poetry), composition (e.g., dialogue), setting goals, choosing a book title and book cover design; writing author bios for the book which will be published after camp concludes. + Leading /participating in additional activities u2013 improv workshop, creating book covers, prophetic prose poetry, open mic practice, individual writing conferences + Preparing writers for the open mic on the last day of camp u2013 choosing the piece they will read aloud, coaching on public speaking, establishing the order of readers + Preparing for camp: Schedule of activities, responsibilities, assembling swag bags, ordering snacks + Camp orientation: Welcome students, establishing camp norms and procedures; tour of building, introduce camp theme. + Other duties as assigned.
