Description We are looking for a Controller to join our team in Lenexa, Kansas. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction accounting, including expertise in work-in-progress and percentage-of-completion methods. This role is an excellent opportunity to oversee comprehensive financial processes and contribute to the success of our projects. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee and manage all aspects of full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. u2022 Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements in compliance with industry standards and regulations. u2022 Utilize work-in-progress and percentage-of-completion accounting methods to track and report project performance. u2022 Collaborate with project managers to analyze financial data and provide insights into project budgets and forecasts. u2022 Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain compliance. u2022 Review and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and consistency across all accounts. u2022 Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. u2022 Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff to support their growth and attention to detail. u2022 Monitor cash flow and manage financial planning to support business operations. u2022 Work closely with external auditors during financial reviews and audits. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on the construction industry. u2022 Proficiency in work-in-progress and percentage-of-completion accounting methods. u2022 Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. u2022 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. u2022 Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel. u2022 Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team.
