Job Title: Building Science Associate Job Requisition: 22246.16.3Job Location: 1350 Broadway, Suite 910, New York, NY 10018Job Type: Full TimeRate of Pay: $125,783 per year Duties: Completes hygrothermal and energy analysis using a combination of hand-calculations and advanced analysis software. Prepares preliminary and final client deliverables, including enclosure-related construction documents, specifications, written reports, conceptual recommendations, and presentations. Performs construction observation and troubleshooting, on-site forensic investigations, condition assessments, performance testing, and litigation support to evaluate enclosure conditions and performance related to air, water, moisture, and thermal transport. Deliver high quality client service, including ability to effectively interface with clients, contractors, and internal project team to coordinate and complete project-specific tasks. Researches new and existing building enclosure systems to develop comprehensive understanding of strengths, limitations, technical challenges, and appropriate design/repair approaches. Requirements: Master's degree in architecture, architectural engineering, building science, or related field and four (4) years of experience performing project work in the building enclosure and building science practice areas within an Architectural/Engineering firm. Position requires experience in the following: (1.) Experience managing building enclosure and/or building science projects, including the investigation of existing building or consulting in new construction.(2.) Experience evaluating the ability of the building enclosure to effectively control and manage water, air, moisture, and thermal loads generated by those environments and within the enclosure to avoid inadequate control and management of these loads, such as water infiltration, air infiltration, mold growth, decay of organic materials, corrosion/section loss of metals, spalling of cementitious materials, decrease in structural strength, decrease in thermal resistance, and/or condensation.(3.) Experience performing one-dimensional and two-dimensional hygrothermal and energy analysis using software and hand calculations.
