What Youu2019ll Do As a Commissioning Technician, youu2019ll take ownership of commissioning activities from early planning through energization and closeu2011out. Your responsibilities will include: + Planning, coordinating, performing, and documenting commissioning activities for utility substations + Reviewing wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documents before project start + Testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing protection and control systems and substation equipment + Participating in kickoff, progress, and lessonsu2011learned project meetings + Preparing detailed daily, weekly, and final commissioning reports with test results and recommendations + Assisting with testing plans, commissioning procedures, and energization plans + Identifying site risks and developing Site Risk Assessments to ensure safety + Producing clear, detailed test reports for protection, control, and power equipment What Weu2019re Looking For + 3+ years of experience in testing and commissioning, preferably in the electric utility sector + Strong understanding of protection and control systems, including relay communications + Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and oneu2011line/threeu2011line diagrams + Experience with mediumu2011 and highu2011voltage substation or power plant equipment + Familiarity with tools such as Doble Protection Suite, ProTest, and SEL AcSELerator (highly preferred) + Valid driveru2019s license and U.S. work eligibility Additional qualities that set candidates apart include experience with relay, SCADA, and apparatus testing; strong written and verbal communication skills; and flexibility to travel and work extended hours as needed. Work Environment & Schedule Work is projectu2011based, primarily across the North Texas area, with all travel expenses covered. Expect a demanding but rewarding schedule with 50u201360 hours per week as standard, offering significant overtime and earning potential. This role may require extended travel, night work, weekends, and holidays depending on project needs.
