Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a dynamic legal firm in New York, New York. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the firm's overall financial health. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong accounting background and familiarity with Aderant software. Responsibilities: u2022 Record and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure data integrity. u2022 Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. u2022 Utilize Aderant software to manage financial tasks and generate detailed reports. u2022 Prepare financial statements and provide actionable insights to support decision-making processes. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. u2022 Collaborate with the team to enhance accounting processes and improve efficiency. u2022 Support audits by gathering documentation and addressing inquiries. u2022 Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. u2022 Work with management to streamline workflows and optimize operational efficiency. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounting, including journal entries and general ledger management. u2022 Proficiency in account reconciliation and month-end/year-end closing procedures. u2022 Familiarity with Aderant software or similar financial management tools. u2022 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. u2022 Strong understanding of accounting principles and compliance standards. u2022 Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. u2022 Effective communication and teamwork abilities. u2022 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
