The Williams lab at New York University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join our team in advancing the quantitative understanding of neural computation and population dynamics. Our lab develops and applies statistical and mathematical frameworks to study how neural systems represent information, perform computations, and adapt through learning. Responsibilities Design and conduct computational and statistical analyses of large-scale neural datasets (e.g., electrophysiology, calcium imaging, or fMRI). Develop novel statistical or machine learning models to characterize neural population activity and its geometry or dynamics. Collaborate closely with experimental neuroscientists and theorists within NYU and external partners. Prepare manuscripts for publication and contribute to grant proposals. Mentor graduate and undergraduate trainees in quantitative methods. In compliance with NYCu2019s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $89,000 - $91,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer . This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date. Ph.D. in neuroscience, statistics, applied mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related field. Strong background in statistical modeling, signal processing, or machine learning. Demonstrated programming proficiency (Python, JAX, or MATLAB preferred). Experience with neural data analysis or statistical modeling of high-dimensional systems is a plus. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, independent research ethos.
