Building and Grounds Supervisor Rochester, NY ( u2022 Northwest Job Type Part-time Description $21/hr. and a Free YMCA Membership Under the general direction of the Buildings and Grounds Director, this position is accountable for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and general maintenance of the facility, both inside and outside. The position requires a commitment to meet superior member expectations in cleanliness and member service. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: u00b7 Responsible for maintenance, upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment, and roads. u00b7 Perform preventative and corrective maintenance functions for the property. u00b7 Provide leadership and support for all maintenance and custodial staff. u00b7 Order and maintain inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, etc. u00b7 Clean bathrooms, offices, rooms, hallways and any other areas by vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing and polishing. u00b7 Trained in and follows all maintenance mandated topics (PPE, Blood borne Pathogens, Hazard Communications, Lock out/Tag out, Asbestos Awareness, etc.). u00b7 Assist with departmental budget and management. u00b7 Coordinate with Buildings and Grounds Director to identify short and long term projects. u00b7 Maintain a high quality of cleanliness in all facilities. Ensure all facilities are safe for campers, guests and staff. u00b7 Respond to emergencies appropriately in accordance to his/her level of training and circumstances. u00b7 Assist in special projects at the branch or other Association facilities. u00b7 Maintain all required certifications. u00b7 Attends all required meetings and training. u00b7 All other duties as assigned. Requirements u00b7 Must be at least 18 years of age. u00b7 Must possess a clean New York State Driveru2019s License. u00b7 At least 6 months prior experience supervising people. u00b7 Must be familiar with operation and repair of maintenance/heavy equipment. u00b7 Individuals need experience and are able to comprehend general cleaning, disinfection, hard floor care, carpet care, wood floor care and related equipment operation and maintenance. u00b7 This position requires strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently. u00b7 Good communication skills are a must, as interaction with diverse groups of members, staff and the general public is a daily requirement. u00b7 CPR/AED and First Aid certification is required or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire date. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: u00b7 Ability to work indoor and outdoor in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes. u00b7 Ability to move within the building including movement from floor to floor and around camp property. u00b7 Ability to lift to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis. u00b7 Ability to bend, stoop and squat. u00b7 May handle chemicals as part of the daily operational duties. u00b7 Ability to move quickly to react to safety issues. Salary Description $21 per hour
