Job Description

*Summary**: Drives company vehicle, makes pickups and deliveries, receives, checks in, stores, and distributes materials, tools, supplies, equipment, and products by performing the following duties: Note: Driver residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least eight hours of work is offered. **Key Responsibilities:** - Some locations include a commercial vehicle, while other shoreplants will operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) up to and over 26,000 lbs. - Prepares receipts for load pickups. - Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations, if required. - Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions. - Loads and unloads truck/commercial vehicle if needed. - Verifies loads for accuracy and delivers them as requested. - Inspects vehicle prior to departure and on return to ensure vehicle maintenance continuity. - Ensures equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water are maintained. - Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit if necessary. - Depending on the shoreplant, may require employee to safely remove dunnage if necessary. - Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned. **Additional Responsibilities:** - Acquires knowledge of Tridents Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions. - Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings. More information can be found at Minimum Requirements **Minimum Qualifications:** - Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before - 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Must have a valid driver's license (CDL) and good driving record. - Must be willing to train in all applicable company and/or regulatory training programs as needed to perform the functions of this position. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Forklift certification, or able to become forklift certified at some shore plants. - High school diploma or general education degree (GED). **Physical Demands:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. - The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. - The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee moves objects: - regularly up to 10 pounds - frequently up to 25 pounds - occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception **Work Environment:** While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/orhumid or cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles;toxic or caustic chemicals.
