This position supports MDTu2019s Statewide Highway Rail Inventory System and contributes to the identification and development of highway rail safety improvements across Montana. This role also involves extensive fieldwork at rail crossings, particularly from spring through fall, to collect data that supports project identification and development. Responsibilities include analyzing this data to recommend appropriate safety enhancements, preparing project correspondence, reviewing railroad invoices, and assisting with the development of cost estimates and agreements with railroads.
