Peterson Dental Laboratory - Delray Beach, Florida Peterson Dental Laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Purchasing Agent & Office Assistant to oversee purchasing, inventory control, and cost optimization across our production departments. As well as be an assistant to the Accounting department. This role is critical to ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time — while actively driving cost savings, vendor accountability, and inventory efficiency.We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and understands that purchasing is both operational and strategic.Position OverviewThe Purchasing Agent will manage all aspects of inventory procurement, issuing, and vendor coordination. This position works closely with the Production Manager and Controller to maintain optimal inventory levels, reduce waste, improve margins, and strengthen supplier relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory ManagementMonitor and maintain appropriate inventory levelsDistribute weekly issuance of materials to productionConduct inventory audits and cycle counts monthly and annuallyIdentify overstock, understock, and slow-moving itemsImplement systems to improve tracking and accuracyPurchasing & Vendor ManagementSource and purchase dental lab materials, supplies, and some equipmentNegotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendorsDevelop and maintain vendor relationshipsIdentify alternative suppliers for cost and quality optimizationEnsure timely ordering to prevent production disruptionsCost Control & OptimizationAnalyze material usage trends and work with Operations manager to reduceIdentify opportunities for bulk purchasing and savingsTrack price fluctuations and manage vendor increasesPartner with Accounting to improve gross margin through material cost controlReporting & SystemsMaintain accurate purchasing records in inventory systemsGenerate inventory and purchasing reportsWork cross-functionally with accounting and operationsSupport monthly inventory reconciliation and cost reviewsOffice Assistant to AccountingRun errands or handle ad hoc requests from leadershipPrinting, Coping and filing as neededCalling facility maintenance, handyman, and utility workers when needed Take on special projects as neededQualifications3+ years experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain (manufacturing environment preferred)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with inventory management software or ERP systemsProficient in Excel (pivot tables, analysis, reporting)Detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to work independently and hold vendors accountableNegotiation experience preferredWhat We’re Looking ForSomeone who thinks beyond “placing orders”A proactive cost-cutter and margin-protectorStrong communicator who collaborates with production and financeHighly organized and process-drivenComfortable in a hands-on operational roleCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $50,000-$60,000, potential for bonus’s401(k) Plan with employer contributionsHealth Insurance Plan with employer contributionPaid Time OffEmployee DiscountsReferral ProgramVision and Dental Insurance OptionProfessional Development Available
