Job Description

The Inventory Specialist manages and tracks inventory for Hyundai Mobis to ensure materials and components are available for uninterrupted production. This role maintains inventory accuracy and collaborates with production, procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to support optimal stock levels and lean manufacturing goals.(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation, and investigate and resolve discrepancies in coordination with warehouse, production, and related teamsUpdate and manage inventory transactions in ERP/MRP systems such as SAP and MES while monitoring part usage and stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventoryCoordinate with receiving and warehouse teams to ensure timely movement of materials from the dock to storage and production lines, supporting sequencing operations, JIT/JIS deliveries, and parts kitting activitiesTrack inbound and outbound materials, maintaining accurate transfer and shipment records, and assist with line-side staging and replenishment as neededCollaborate with production planners and supervisors to understand material requirements, ensure availability of critical components, and support daily build schedules and tacttimeCommunicate material shortages, delays, or risks promptly to leadershipUtilize SAP to perform transactions, generate reports, and analyze inventory trends, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory performance reportsDocument and update inventory SOPs, ensure compliance with company policies and automotive quality standards, and support audit activities as requiredMaintain proper labeling, traceability, and material handling standards, recommend process improvements to reduce waste, improve accuracy, support lean initiatives, and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for material-related issuesSupervisory Responsibilities:No(The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)Required Education & Experience:High School Diploma or GED requiredPreferred Education & Experience:Experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment preferredFamiliarity with lean manufacturing and Just‑in‑Time (JIT) principlesForklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment (certification can be obtained upon hire, if required)Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic data analysisExperience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferredRequired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Minimum of One (1) to Two (2) years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or manufacturing logisticsProficiency with inventory management software and ERP/MES systemsStrong attention to detail with solid problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume automotive environmentCertificates, Licenses, and Registrations:None RequiredWorking Conditions:Work is performed in both office and production environments and may involve repetitive standing and walking within and between buildings, as well as occasional travel to suppliers or off-site meetingsThe role may require prolonged standing and walking on the production floor for up to eight to ten hours per shiftAbility to manually kit parts or use mechanical assistance for components weighing up to thirty-five pounds, and repetitive turning and lifting of parts throughout the workday to support production requirementsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role
