An Assistant Plumber is an entry-level position that provides crucial support to licensed plumbers. This role is essential for the efficient and safe completion of plumbing projects, ranging from routine maintenance to complex installations and repairs. The Assistant Plumber works under the direct supervision of a skilled plumber, assisting with a wide range of tasks while gaining valuable on-the-job experience. This position requires physical stamina, a willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail. This is a dynamic role that requires extensive travel to various job sites, often involving both driving company vehicles and air travel. Travel expected up to 100% of the time. Essential Duties & Responsibilities u2022Packing and sorting plumbing equipment for each job. u2022Locating pipe leaks and preparing the work area. u2022Cutting open walls and structures to expose pipes. u2022Installing toilets, showerheads, aerators, water heaters u2022Adjusting water pressure valves. u2022Assisting the Master Plumber with plumbing installations and repairs. u2022Replacing faucet washers and toilet wax rings. u2022Measuring, cutting, assembling, and threading pipes. u2022Installing gutters, drainpipes, and runoff systems. u2022Ensure systems meet all standards of building codes and safety. u2022Coordinate with project manager on installation u2022Other duties as assigned. Qualifications u2022High School Diploma required u2022Valid driver licenses required. u2022OSHA 10, if not certified must be completed within 30 days of hire date. u2022Ability to get the proper equipment or company vehicles to and from job sites u2022Ability to work independently on a job site u2022Good knowledge of plumbing equipment and techniques. u2022A strong work ethic, a reliable and dependable nature, and a willingness to work as part of a team. u2022Good physical fitness and dexterity. u2022Critical thinker with good problem-solving abilities. u2022Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the lead plumber, team members, and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
