Description JOB STATEMENT: Assembles or modifies electromechanical equipment (e.g. Switchboards, Lighting panels etc.) with the use of mechanical tools and blueprints.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSu2022 Education: High School Diplomau2022 Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in assemblyu2022 Specialized Training: Training in assemblyu2022 Knowledge: Basic hand tools, power tools, reading and interpreting blueprintsu2022 Skills: Basic computer skills, and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools.u2022 Abilities:uf0a7 Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English languageuf0a7 Must be able to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs., and push/pull/slide heavy materialuf0a7 Must be able to make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.uf0a7 Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climbu2022 Other: Must be at least 18 years of age.Must have a reliable form of transportationESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSu2022 Operates tools and equipment common to the mechanical trade (e.g. hand & power tools).u2022 Processes work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders.u2022 Scans in and out of work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders.u2022 Reads and interprets documents associated with the completion of mechanical assembly assignments (e.g. blueprints, bill of materials, one line diagrams, etc.).u2022 Gathers parts and accessories required in the assembly process.u2022 Assembles fabricated parts to create unit assemblies (Switchboards & Lighting Panels) or subassemblies.u2022 Fastens component parts on cubicles or frames, subassemblies, or unit assemblies.u2022 Connects cables and basic wires.u2022 Verifies that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.u2022 Disassembles units to adjust or replace parts.u2022 Marks unit assemblies with identifying information and/or attaches identifying tags.u2022 Reports non-conforming items (e.g. parts, schematics, blue prints, etc.)u2022 Prepares finished units for shipping (e.g. packing, sealing, labeling, etc.)u2022 Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.u2022 Accesses and utilizes various documents, with the use of computers, associated with the manufacture of products in assembly (e.g. Quality and Safety Documents, Operating Instructions, etc.)u2022 Performs other work as directed by Supervision.JOB SPECIFICATIONSu2022 Working Conditions: Job involves typically working indoors, being assigned to any of the different shifts, occasionally lifting heavy materials, wearing common safety equipment (e.g. cut-resistant gloves and sleeves, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.) being exposed to loud noises and the possibility of bumps, cuts, scrapes, and strains.u2022 Capabilities: The following are behaviors essential to being successful in this job.uf0a7 Safety Advocacy: Ability to promote and ensure a safe work environment; identifies, communicates, and eliminates hazards encountered during regular course of work.uf0a7 Quality Orientation: Focused on meeting or exceeding the level of excellence of products, services, and work activitiesu2013measured against pre-set standards; able to identify flaws and take corrective action.uf0a7 Cooperation: Willingly assist others by offering guidance, sharing knowledge, teaching skills, or directly performing a task in order to help out. Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pomona, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
