Job Title: Well Testing and Flowback Field Technician Job Description The Well Testing and Flowback Field Technician rigs up, operates, and rigs down well testing equipment in the field while closely monitoring production data and ensuring safe, efficient operations. This role combines hands-on mechanical work with accurate data recording, troubleshooting, and collaboration with a small, tight-knit crew in a field-based oilfield environment. Responsibilities + Rig up, operate, monitor, and rig down well testing and flowback equipment, including separators, tanks, piping, and valves. + Monitor and record oil, gas, and water flow rates, pressure, temperature, and fluid levels throughout live well operations. + Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues that arise during well testing and flowback activities. + Manage and coordinate the storage, hauling, and disposal or recycling of produced fluids in compliance with operational standards. + Maintain accurate daily reports, production data logs, and other required documentation to ensure data integrity and traceability. + Follow all safety, environmental, and quality control procedures while working around pressurized systems and heavy equipment. + Perform basic maintenance on oilfield tools and equipment and assist with repairs and overhaul as needed. + Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during rig up, rig down, maintenance, and repair tasks. + Participate in Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) and other equipment safety procedures to ensure safe operations. + Communicate clearly with crew members and management regarding job status, equipment performance, and any operational concerns. + Support multiple service lines as needed, contributing to cross-functional field operations rather than working in a siloed role. Essential Skills + Hands-on experience or strong aptitude in well testing, flowback operations, or related oilfield activities. + Proficiency using oilfield tools, including power tools and hand tools, in a safe and controlled manner. + Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of oilfield equipment. + Ability to rig up and rig down well testing and flowback equipment such as separators, tanks, piping, and valves. + Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical or operational issues during live well operations. + Basic computer skills for entering and managing production data, daily reports, and operational logs. + Commitment to maintaining data integrity and accurate data management in all reporting activities. + Effective communication skills to work closely with small crews and coordinate with management. + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks and shifts. + Comfort working around pressurized systems and adhering strictly to safety procedures. + Valid driveru2019s license. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent education. + Oilfield, mechanical, or industrial field experience is preferred. + Experience working with separators and related well testing equipment is beneficial. + Familiarity with Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) and other equipment safety procedures is an advantage. + Willingness to learn new techniques and advance within oilfield operations. + Ability to contribute positively within small, tight-knit crews and collaborate across multiple service lines. Work Environment This is a field-based role supporting operations in and around Bakersfield, CA. You work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions and around pressurized systems and heavy equipment. The environment is hands-on and physically demanding, requiring the regular use of oilfield tools, power tools, and hand tools during rig up, rig down, maintenance, and repair activities. Crews are small and collaborative, with a strong safety culture, structured procedures such as Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO), and a focus on accurate data collection and careful equipment handling. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
