Job Title: Structural Steel Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Structural Steel Welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and assembling steel components used in commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of welding techniques and structural steel standards. Responsibilities + Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine project specifications. + Weld structural steel components using MIG and Dual Shield welding. + Operate cutting, grinding, and welding equipment safely and efficiently. + Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with industry standards. + Perform layout, fitting, and fabrication of steel assemblies. + Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to ensure quality and timely completion of projects. + Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and company policies. + Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools. Essential Skills + Proficiency in using measuring tools and fitting techniques. + Strong knowledge of structural steel and fabrication processes. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. + Expertise in welding, particularly in MIG and Dual Shield. Work Environment The position is based in a mostly outdoor fabrication shop in Bakersfield, CA, known for creating all steel structural products. It is one of the biggest fabrication shops in the area, offering a robust work environment that demands safety and efficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
